Coral and Stone
We are currently stocking several kinds of coral and soft stone. These are soft enough to be ground on traditional equipment. Apple and Tiger coral are particularly strong and resilient and react similarly to bone. They are 100% stable and will not shrink, bend or move. One tip that we recommend is after the initial shaping seal the surface with super-glue, let dry, final sand, repeat if necessary, and polish. Because the material is porous, the super glue helps to seal the exterior and makes the buffing process much easier, as buffing compound is difficult to remove from pores. It is an extra step that is well worth the extra time.

Blue Coral
Blue Coral is famous for it's pale to indigo blue color & white swirls. Blue Coral though 100% stable, is not as durable as Apple Coral or Tiger Coral, but with care while working makes for a very intriguing handle material. We do not recommend Blue Coral for working knives or factory slip joints. Serpentine Stone
Serpentine Stone is well sought after for it's random pattern and black & green colors. Serpentine, much like Blue Coral, is a little fragile and requires care when working. Serpentine Stone does not require sealing as it is not porous. Lapidary equipment is not required. Sold by the pair.
Tiger Coral
Tiger Coral is a tropical coral known for it's beige, dark brown and black colors in which the patterns resemble cave drawings. Unlike many other corals, Tiger Coral is very durable, easy to work and 100% stable. One tip that we recommend is after the initial shaping, seal the surface with super-glue, let dry, final sand, repeat if necessary, and polish.
