These materials are easy to use. They can be cut & shaped using normal tooling (band saw, dremel tool, belt sander etc…). When making a knife handle, the first step is to flat sand the reverse side to insure the flattest possible surface to meet the liners. Cut material to fit flush with the bolsters if applicable. Secure handles to liners using pins, screws and/or epoxy (We recommend Locktite). Cut or sand away excess overhanging material. To obtain the rich interior color as per the sample board, sand with 150 grit followed by 220, 400 and polish with 1000 grit or polishing compound on a soft buffing wheel. Care should be used when processing to insure that the materials do not get too hot as this can cause a burn mark that can be difficult to buff out. If material becomes hot to the touch, let it cool and proceed.
